Crooks and Liars

Crooks and Liars: "Rove: I think that will be a big part of it. I think history is going to see him as a man who put America on a war footing in a struggle that will have shaped the nature of this century. He will be seen as someone who liberated Afghanistan and Iraq. Fifty million people now live in freedom in those two countries who did not know freedom before. And he will also be seen as somebody who's created a strategy to confront terrorism that is going to make America and the world safer in the years to come.
Look, judgments of history are harsh in the short run and unfairly so many times. Harry S. Truman left office. In fact the slogan at the time was 'To err is Truman'. He left town not very popular and yet history regards him now as a much different person and I think this President is not going to leave office with that same state. He's going to be at a relatively low ratings but much better than some of his predecessors. History though is going to be kind to him at the end. I'm absolutely confident of that."

Nope. Your wrong Karl, there is no comparison between Truman and GWB. Lets list a few of Truman's accomplishments
Successfully defended S. Korea
Desegregated the military
Began the recovery of Europe through the Marshall Plan
Ended World War II
Set in motion "containment" of Communism

Now lets list President George W. Bush's
Allowed the country to be attacked and over 3000 killed while he vacationed at a fake ranch in Texas
Started a major conflict by mistake (where is the WMD?)
Is now losing a major conflict (Afghanistan) by incompetence
Created a Cabinet level Agency (Homeland Security) and dumped into it FEMA and appointed a horse show
Promoter as head to watch over the drowning of a city while he was giving a birthday party to John McCain
Somehow lost an airplane full of cash (literally pallets of hundred dollar bills)
Stomped all over the Constitution
Has presided over the worst financial crises in more than a generation

Now how in the hell is that going to go away for future historians. It won't, it will be worse because he will not have spinners like Rove and Limbaugh to speak for him.
